OnePlus trims cost with a slightly pared-down 13R
OnePlus 13R is a more affordable, slightly stripped-down sibling to the new OnePlus 13. With a few targeted compromises the company has pushed the price down significantly while keeping the phone squarely in the premium camp.
Hardware and display
The 13R is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
It sports a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED ProXDR display that adapts its refresh rate between 1 and 120 Hz depending on what you’re doing.
Cameras and imaging
The camera array includes an optically stabilized 50-megapixel main sensor (Sony LYT-700), a 50-megapixel portrait/telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide. OnePlus says a new dual-exposure algorithm improves image quality for moving subjects.
Battery, charging and durability
Like its bigger sibling, the 13R houses a large 6,000 mAh battery. Charging is rated at a brisk 80 W, a step down from the OnePlus 13’s 100 W but still fast.
The phone uses Gorilla Glass 7i on the surface, carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, and meets MIL-STD-810H durability testing.
Colors, price and availability
The OnePlus 13R will be available in black and white and carries a price of 749 euros. Official sales start January 14.
How it compares to the OnePlus 13
A OnePlus 13 with equivalent memory is priced at 999 euros. The most significant differences between the OnePlus 13 and the 13R are:

Competition
At the same 749-euro price point, rivals include the Google Pixel 9 and Samsung Galaxy S24/S24+. Samsung’s new Galaxy S25 models arrive later this month. On the Apple side, last year’s iPhone 15 sits in this price range, with the iPhone 16 available at a higher cost.
What’s in the box
The 13R ships in a reduced retail package containing the phone, OnePlus’s signature red charging cable, and documentation. There is no charging adapter and no protective case included.
