OnePlus Nord 4 brings flagship display tech and faster charging to midrange
OnePlus is expanding its midrange lineup with the Nord 4 5G, a phone that pushes several flagship-style features into a more affordable segment.
The Nord 4 ships with a 6.74-inch AMOLED display running at 120 Hz and a resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels. The panel supports Ultra HDR and reaches a peak brightness of 2150 nits. OnePlus also applied the ProXDR display technology used in the OnePlus 12, which dynamically adjusts brightness and image fidelity based on content.
Battery, charging, and build
OnePlus upgraded the battery to 5,500 mAh, a noticeable increase from the previous model’s 5,000 mAh cell. Fast charging power has been raised to 100 watts SuperVOOC, up from 80 watts, and the company says a fully depleted battery can be recharged to full in about 28 minutes.
The Nord 4 measures 162.6 x 75 x 7.99 millimeters and weighs 199.5 grams. It carries an IP65 rating and includes stereo speakers. OnePlus does not include a charging brick in the box; the package contains the familiar red USB-C to USB-A cable, documentation, and a Red Cable Club membership card. A protective case is also not provided.
Performance and cameras
Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3. Memory options are LPDDR5X in 12 GB and 16 GB configurations, with storage at 256 GB or 512 GB.
The main camera is a 50-megapixel sensor paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide. The front camera is 16 megapixels.
Pricing, availability, and competition
In Finland, the Nord 4 is priced at 499 euros for the 12 GB / 256 GB model and 599 euros for the 16 GB / 512 GB variant. Preorders are already open at the time of publication, and shipments begin on August 8.
At its price points the Nord 4 will compete with phones such as the Samsung Galaxy A55, Google Pixel 8a, discounted OnePlus 12R units, and even the Samsung Galaxy S23 when those devices appear in similar price brackets.
