Samsung leans on A-series value as Galaxy A56 arrives

Samsung’s A-series consistently ranks among carriers’ and retailers’ top sellers, and for good reason. These phones have long delivered what buyers want most: a strong value proposition. The appeal extends beyond everyday consumers; business customers often favor A-series devices as well.

We tested the new Samsung Galaxy A56 to see whether it can keep the A-series momentum going.

Configurations, pricing, and colors

The Galaxy A56 is offered in two storage options: 128 gigabytes and 256 gigabytes. Both versions include eight gigabytes of RAM. The 128 GB model carries a recommended price of 499 euros, while the 256 GB model is priced at 549 euros.

Samsung ships the phone in four colors: Awesome Lightgray, Awesome Graphite, Awesome Olive, and Awesome Pink.

Market positioning and competition

Midrange launches typically get crowded, but Samsung’s timing moves the A56 closer to summer, leaving fewer direct rivals at launch. Fresh challengers include the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro and the Google Pixel 9a.

Models that have dropped into a similar price bracket from last year include the Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24 FE, Honor 200 Pro, Motorola Edge 50 Neo, HMD Skyline, OnePlus Nord 4, and Apple’s iPhone 14.

Box contents and packaging tweaks

Samsung hasn’t dramatically changed the retail bundle from the previous model. The box remains thin and compact.

Careful observers will spot a small design change: the manufacturer’s logo has moved to the top corner of the lid, while the model name now sits in the lower corner.

Inside the box you get the phone, a USB-C to USB-C cable, a SIM tool, and a packet of user manuals. A charger and any protective case must be purchased separately.
