Samsung Keeps It Compact: The Galaxy S25 Sticks to a Smaller Flagship Formula

Samsung keeps a small flagship in the lineup

Is the compact and punchy Samsung Galaxy S25 still a credible challenger against larger rivals? These days most new flagship phones trend toward the biggest sizes, but Samsung has quietly continued to offer a smaller S-series model.

The Galaxy S25 represents Samsung’s small-phone approach in a market that increasingly favors large displays.

Configurations and colors

In Finland the Galaxy S25 is available with either 128 or 256 gigabytes of storage. Both variants include 12 gigabytes of RAM.

Standard color options are Navy, Icyblue, Silver Shadow, and Mint. Samsung is also offering two exclusive hues, Coralred and Pinkgold, which can only be ordered through Samsung’s official online store.

Price and positioning

Prices remain unchanged from the previous model. The 128 GB version carries a recommended retail price of 949 euros, while the 256 GB model is priced at 1009 euros.

Because the S25 targets a smaller size segment, direct rivals are limited. Android alternatives include last year’s Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro. On the Apple side, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro are the most comparable options.

When raw performance is taken into account, the field widens: devices such as the new OnePlus 13 and the Honor Magic7 Pro present tougher competition.

Box contents and packaging

The Galaxy S25 ships in a slim, dark retail box with a slightly altered lid graphic. Instead of a glossy photo of the phone’s rear panel, the cover shows a subtle silhouette of the back from a slight angle.

Packaging is deliberately minimal. Inside the box you will find the phone, a USB-C to USB-C cable, a SIM tool, and documentation. No charger or protective case is included.
